shanachie13Part Two...My home life and a little tiny around town cuz well I knew I forgot to do something. *face palm*
First up is the entrance to Washington Rock State Park...this is seriously like our only claim to fame in the area. And it is so named because this is where George Washington spied on the Brits during the Revolutionary war. It has this sign (points up)
And this flag atop a rock...and that's it...oh and a really pretty view that sucked that day from the smog so I didn't bother taking any pictures of it. And the other day I went...it was snowing!

Now down and into my room. Our house is a split level. So I am actually below the first level, but not in the basement. The stairs on the left go up to the main level while the ones to the right go down to the basement.
My room is subdivided into a sleeping area and a study area. My bookshelves and my closet are what are the dividing line at the moment.
According to Murphy...bookshelves are for kitties!
According to me...bookshelves are for books!
My sleeping area. Yes, it's a mess. Actually I've cleaned it a bit before I took this picture. The flowered thing on the floor is Jordana's bed. Murphy as you can see, sleeps with me.
My hope chest (behind the box), my laundry basket, and the corner of my dresser. Along the ledge is about half of my picture collection. I love having pictures of my friends and family in my room. I need to add a few more, but as you'll see...
I'm running out of room. The rest of my dresser and the wall. The dresser is the same one I've had since I was a child. I thought my grandfather had made it, but my mother recently informed me that no he didn't make it. So I have no idea where I got it from...nor do I now have a reason for why I've been dragging it around for 30 years!
Jordana on her comfy bed at the end of mine. It's actually just two blankets folded up for her. She won't actually sleep on a real dog bed, but as long as the blankets smell like me...she'll use them. So when I wash them, I put them on my bed for a few hours afterwards and we're all good.
Murphy in one of my Soldiers' Angel's boxes. Apparently he wanted to go to Iraq! Surprisingly for how small the boxes are...I can get a hell of a lot in them!
The bookshelves that are actually in my "study" area. These face into my study and will eventually hold reference books once I start sorting things.
My messy computer. I'm still arranging things so I've kinda piled stuff on it. The two books on top are Band of Sisters and The Long Road Home both of which were recommended by SA. Yes, those are black roses in the vase on top. Unfortunately they are silk. The plastic bin holds the rose petals from the flowers from my grandfather's funeral that the grandchildren gave him.

A close-up of my computer screen. This was my "What if...?" story and the corner of my rotating background (the coolest feature of Linux)...Hardison was up when I snapped the picture. I've got Leverage on rotate right now. I must have been working steadily on my story that day because no IM'ing was up (the reason you can see the background) or I was being anti-social.
And one night I made dinner last week. I wanted something different so I threw together a stir fry with beef, corn, snap peas, and mushrooms with a sweet and sour sauce then tossed it over rice. It was really good!
So that's pretty much everything...my school and my room. Anything else y'all want to see?
