Leverage Idea

This is an idea...and I kinda want to see if anyone wants me to continue it...and what you think of what I started here...it all started with me wondering the other night "What did Eliot do with his money?" So, yes, I do have an idea of where this is going...and yes, there will be fighting, and maybe a con...and the rest of the team may show up again...but I haven't mapped everything out yet.

The ringing of the phone jolted Eliot awake, but there was no trace of sleep when he answered, "What?"

"They took Ben," a familiar voice said.

The sentence wiped any trace of sleep from his mind. "Who's they, Bri?" he asked as he sat up. "And where?"

"I'm in Idaho. The last job I pulled. They took Ben for collateral. Everything went fine, until I went to get him back. He wasn't there."

"Damn it, Bri. I gave you that money so you wouldn't have to pull anymore jobs." He grabbed the nearest pair of jeans and pulled them on, not bothering with anything else. "You can't have spent it all already."

"I didn't. I agreed to this before you gave me the money. It just got delayed. I tried to back out, but they threatened Ben. I couldn't refuse."

He pushed his hair back, leaning his head against the window glass. "All right. I'll fly into Boise tomorrow. What color is your hair now?"

He could almost hear the smile in her voice. "The same color it was in Berlin. Think you can find me?"

"Yeah. I'll find you. I'll give you a call when I know when I'm flying in."

"You bringing your own toys?" she asked.

"Some, but I assume you'll have stuff I can borrow?"

"Actually you left a few things here. I'll make sure they're in the Jeep."

"Fine. I'll see you tomorrow."

* * * * * * * *

Eliot dropped his duffel on top of his desk and pulled out his drawer, looking for some stuff. He'd packed clothes at home and just wanted to add a few things. Rifling through the drawers, he frowned. "Parker!" he yelled. "Where's my damn knife?"

The blond thief poked her head into his office. "What knife?"

"The one I keep taped to the underside of this drawer."

She shrugged. "I didn't take it."

He slammed the drawer shut, causing Nate and Hardison to poke their heads in. Nate motioned for the two younger members to leave. "Is there a problem?" he wanted to know.

"No," Eliot growled. "I'll just take a different one."

"Where?"

"I have to leave for a few days. Take care of something." Eliot retrieved a knife from another hiding spot, but Nate didn't react. "I'll be back before you get another job scheduled."

"Take Hardison."

Eliot's movements betrayed his feelings. "I don't need help."

"I didn't say you did. I just thought you might like the company."

"This is personal, Nate," Eliot replied, "not business."

"Take Hardison," Nate repeated. "That wasn't a suggestion."

"Ya know I'm not sure I like you sober." Eliot zipped up his bag. "Hardison, I'm leaving in ten. If you aren't ready with a ticket, I'm leaving without you."

Hardison looked around the wall in confusion. "Leaving for where?"

"Boise, Idaho."

Oh yes, please continue this! I'm all manner of curious to find out who Bri and Ben are. Relatives? Old Flame? I wanna know. :)

Btw, I just friended you.

[identity profile] shanachie13.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Is Eliot in character? And does it seem in character that he would go running to someone when she called him? If it was someone from his past?

Yes, I know who Bri and Ben are...and Ben will be mentioned more than show up.

Have we ever heard what hair color Eliot prefers?

[identity profile] angelskuuipo.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
I do think Eliot is in character.

He might work alone (or used to anyway), but if someone he was close to needed help he'd be there. Look at how adamant he was that the team help Aimee and her father in the Two Horse Job, even though he knew Aimee wouldn't be happy to see him.

I haven't caught anything about his hair colour preference. The receptionist he was hitting on in The Twelve Step Job was a blonde, but that's just so cliche. I'm partial to redheads myself. :)

[identity profile] shanachie13.livejournal.com 2009-03-17 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Okay good...I'm not quite ready to write Parker yet...which is why I'm throwing most of the team away at the moment.

*nods* Okay. I'll give you the hint that Bri does something similar to what he does, but not always. They have worked together in the past and he does have a connection to Ben. Possibly the one you might be considering, possibly not. They have worked together, but not always willingly--on either side. And he did give her money.

Well she's most likely a natural blond for the simple fact that that's the color that's easiest to dye, but she changes her hair color frequently. Just trying to decide what color she had in Berlin. Maybe it'll be red-head...it'll depend on my mood...she's got the temper for it. :-)

Part Two is up...there will be no more until I figure out the "fight" scene.

Kewl on the friending!

[identity profile] tommyhanson.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, nifty! I really liked the lines
"Take Hardison," Nate repeated. "That wasn't a suggestion."
"Ya know I'm not sure I like you sober."
they were very in character and rather amusing. I'm very interested in seeing where this goes.

[identity profile] shanachie13.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah "Dad" had to get his two cents in while he could.

*giggles* Oh if you liked those...wait until you see the next part...which is coming...pretty soon. I want to finish a little bit more before posting...if I could just find the point I'd be able to give this a title!

Clearly, Eliot spent some of his money on hair products. He put the rest in savings, so that he could buy more hair products when these run out.

[identity profile] shanachie13.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
ROTFLMAO Clearly! I posted this on provideleverage now...differently cut up and with a little bit more added in places.

Have you seen this picture?! *points to icon* Talk about getting attacked by a hair dryer.

And I will reply to the longer conversation...but maybe we should move it off pl? I'm going to message you tomorrow.
ext_12353: (Default)

[identity profile] trulybloom.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
I'll go find it on pl

Have NOT seen this picture. He's definitely giving Fabio a run for his money! LOL

Is it sacriligious of me to say that I prefer him with the short hair he had when he played Lindsey on Angel?

And, sure - take the longer conversation where ever you want.

[identity profile] shanachie13.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
*nods* Do that, please...I did some editing so there are tiny changes...and I posted part two up until Eliot re-joins Bri.

*giggles* Yes he really does. I don't particularly like the picture, but I have promo ones of each of them and that is Eliot's promo...which really makes me wonder.

Um no not to me. But then again, I didn't even recognize him on Leverage when it first started because of the hair. When he pulled it back and I had my head turned away and I just heard the voice--that's when I realized who he was...but then again I tend to recognize voices over faces anyway.

Then again there's also this choice: http://media.photobucket.com/image/christian%2Bkane%2Blove%2Bsong/cadefirestorm/PlayingGuitar.jpg and as an added bonus--he plays guitar and sings in that movie (plus he's a grease monkey so he's all dirty at points). Gotta admit I really liked that hair cut.

Did you hear the producers want to cut his hair? Chris doesn't want to, but they do.
ext_12353: (Default)

[identity profile] trulybloom.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
Promos of each of them? Oh, I'd like to see!

That's Eliot, eh - he's definitely Sampson with his mighty fists of fury.

I know what you mean about voices - sometimes it is a lot easier. I've certainly been aware of Christian Kane since Angel, but I never watched much of that show, so it took me a little while to put it together that this was the same actor, but I did eventually recognize him in the promos, before the show started. Who I didn't realize was in it was Gina Bellman! I saw her on "Coupling", but didn't make the connection in the promos - I didn't realize it was her until I saw the pilot.

That is a GREAT picture of Christian with the guitar - I could go for that! That movie was on a few weeks ago, but I only caught a few bits of it. Somehow dirty, greasy men on film are way hotter than dirty, greasy men who work on my car.

I think I did hear that the producers want to cut his hair - I wonder why? His hair really seems to be integral to who the character is - Eliot wouldn't be Eliot with Lindsey's short hair, for example. OTOH, Eliot's hair did seem to get longer as the season progressed. I wonder how short they want to cut it.

[identity profile] shanachie13.livejournal.com 2009-03-22 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
As soon as we get the icons uploaded I will post them to provideleverage...but that was the issue with photobucket we ran into yesterday. I don't have enough room to load all of them. We're going to try again this afternoon I believe.

*giggles* Someone is going to write a story about Eliot getting his hair cut you know that right. And I refuse to do that. That's a little too crack for me. Damn it I take my story writing seriously (most of the time).

*nods* I used to sing so I will pick up voices before faces. And I did watch Angel...at least the early seasons so I knew his voice. So once I heard his voice, I knew I knew him. I don't often watch actors' names though, unless I start following one. Like I will watch for his now. Or a few others. He's got a good voice though and a pretty distinctive one so I'll keep an ear out for it.

Oh for sure...it was a pretty decent movie. I watched it...with interruptions cuz I knew it was one my best friend would like so I told her about it. So every commercial she called me to gush. I didn't get her hooked enough on him to watch Leverage though. Greasy boys working on my car--my mechanic is one of my former students (and this does not make me as old as it sounds--i teach middle school--he was my student just a few years ago).

I have no idea...but his hair is VERY long right now...longer than it was during the show. From what I got (and I didn't really look at the comments) they wanted to shut it pretty short. As long as they have a reasonable explanation for it...I'm okay with it. I'm not okay that Chris doesn't want it cut. Cuz honestly its his hair--he obviously grew it out for a reason. So is he actually being consulted on this or are they just making an arbitrary decision? That's where my problem is...not that they want to cut it...but that it almost seems--from what I've seen--that Chris is getting no say in it.

I mean after season 3 of SG-1, Michael Shanks cut his hair off and that was totally his decision. It freaked everyone out cuz he came back to set with it short. Jason Momoa did the same thing (although with Jason it was a medical thing). So if they consult Chris and he wants to do it...as long as they consult him--does it really matter? It's hair people! Yes, it will change the character a bit...but as long as they explain it...its okay. And honestly...Chris is cuter with shorter hair. Okay I shall stop ranting now. (Was that a rant?)

Oh, I saw - they all looked real nice.

Someone is going to write a story about Eliot getting his hair cut…
Maybe there's a kitchen fire and some of it gets singed off, so he has to cut it to make it look even halfway normal. Or maybe Parker says she's just going to trim off the split ends, but then goes a little over-enthusiastic with the sheers? And then everyone else can be all "Well, that's what you get for trusting Parker" and "When did you forget that she's crazy?" and Nate'll just smile, shake his head, and laugh!

it was a pretty decent movie. I watched it...with interruptions.
Well, that's a glowing recommendation. Maybe I'll have to rent it, so that I can watch it on my terms. I think the time it was on tv, I'd missed the beginning and then something else I was invested in was on at the same time as the end... I don't know, but I've only seen a couple of partial scenes from it.

I didn't get her hooked enough on him to watch Leverage
That's too bad. I'm loving the show! I enjoy the movies like "Ocean's Eleven" and "The Italian Job" - so this is right up my alley, plus I actually like all the members of the team, which doesn't always happen (and, there are enough to be interesting, but not too many so that I can't remember names).

they wanted to shut it pretty short. As long as they have a reasonable explanation for it...I'm okay with it.
It would be really weird if he just showed up with a crew cut, no explanation, no mention of when or why he did it. It would just be so odd! OTOH, I guess they have their own ideas of who the character is - they obviously let him grow his hair out during the filming of the first season (a lot of shows trim the actor's hair so that it's exactly the same length every week).

I'm not okay that Chris doesn't want it cut. Cuz honestly its his hair--he obviously grew it out for a reason. So is he actually being consulted on this or are they just making an arbitrary decision?
It's hard to tell how much input he has, how much his opinion counts. But, he is an actor, so he kind of has to do what they tell him they need for the character. Actors get their hair cut and dyed all the time for roles. Then again, if he's so against it that it's going to adversely affect his performance, well.... But, yeah, I'm with you - I do hope that they come to a decision everyone's happy with - and that whatever decision they make, it's for a good reason and not some arbitrary "we think you'd be hotter this other way" sort of crap.

I mean after season 3 of SG-1, Michael Shanks cut his hair off .
Yikes! Then again, Jackson had been with the team long enough by that point that him adopting some of the habits of the military wasn't at all far fetched, like him working out to beef up, or getting better at handling a weapon. So, there was a way that the actor's decision could be made to work for the character.

Jason Momoa did the same thing (although with Jason it was a medical thing).
I didn't know it was a medical thing, but, yeah, I'd heard that he wanted it cut. Then again, they never did cut the hair of the character - they just made the actor wear a wig every week - so they didn't think Jason's short hair would work for Ronan, for whatever reason.

So if they consult Chris and he wants to do it...as long as they consult him--does it really matter? It's hair people! Yes, it will change the character a bit...but as long as they explain it...its okay.
Even if they don't explain it, it'll still be okay. Might be a little weird if they don't explain it, but it'll still be okay. Though, you know, some girls are so very much invested in the long hair that they will have FITS - loud and long fits - if it happens!

And honestly...Chris is cuter with shorter hair. Okay I shall stop ranting now. (Was that a rant?)
I really do like him with the shorter hair! I think the longer hair makes him look shorter and his face look longer. But, you know, I really don't care that much either way. What I'd like to see is him wearing less clutter on his wrists! That's what I'd change, if I changed anything.

Part One

80 Characters OVER!

Oh, I saw - they all looked real nice.
Thank you. :-) And people are snagging already!

Maybe there's a kitchen fire...Parker says she's just going to trim
See your mind is almost eviler than mine! But goddess LOL that was great and just what I needed when I woke up feeling sick. I ended up calling out of work and I'm going back to bed in a few minutes.

Well, that's a glowing recommendation.
*shakes head* yeah okay that was a bad commentary. Honestly I'm not a chick flick kinda girl, but he looked really hot in the movie and he played your stereo-typical bad boy--which was really hot. Add in the playing and singing and I'd watch it again. Better?

I'm loving the show! I enjoy the movies like "Ocean's Eleven" and "The Italian Job"
I seem to be having bad luck getting people hooked on this show damn it. I couldn't convince her to watch. I can't convince Eagles to watch. But I LOVE it. And yeah TIJ is one of my fave movies. I would so love to see the "team" pull off that one (the one from the Italian Job).

Part Two (mostly the hair discussion)

[identity profile] shanachie13.livejournal.com 2009-03-23 12:50 pm (UTC)(link)

It would be really weird if he just showed up with a crew cut
*shudders* Chris with a crew cut...no, just no. Short hair is one thing...crew cut is another. 1 of my friends commented "I guess we'll be able to tell what order the episodes were supposed to be aired in by the length of Chris's hair. That cracked me up.

It's hard to tell how much input he has, how much his opinion counts.
Yeah, it really is. Everything I've read and honestly I've only heard things in the last couple of days is that he doesn't want to cut it. Now whether he doesn't want to cut it off or just cut it short, I have no idea. Plus what do they mean by cut? I mean I have long hair...had really, really long hair--down to my waist long hair. To me cutting it would mean it would be shoulder length, but if I say "cut" to friends they assume I'm getting a couple inches taken off. Of course if I say it to my sister--I do it to freak her out and I mean a couple of inches, but she thinks chopping short. Mine is in a braid now and it reaches about halfway down my back--if I don't straighten it, it'll reach a bit farther--its not nearly as curly as his, but yeah...I think it's a matter of degrees too.

Jackson had been with the team long enough by that point that him adopting some of the habits of the military
Michael cut his hair because of another role, didn't tell anyone on SG-1 and yeah there was a big hullabaloo when he got back to the set. But honestly I think Michael just wanted to look older.

I didn't know it was a medical thing
Yes, after a while Jason admitted that he cut his hair because the weight of it--the hair was something like 10 pounds (um wow!)--he was getting migraines. I don't know how possible that is. I get migraines. I asked my doc about it and he said the weight of my hair has nothing to do with it. But my hair is no where near that heavy.

Even if they don't explain it, it'll still be okay.
No, I really want an explanation. Even if just Chris explains it in an interview. Its still an interview. And personally *giggles* I think watching the fangirls freak out will be amusing...but that's just me.

I really do like him with the shorter hair! I think the longer hair makes him look shorter and his face look longer.
Hmmm I never thought of that. I just knew I liked the shorter hair. Not Lindsay short, but shorter. Then again I prefer a cleaner cut to guys--makes it much more fun when they turn out to be "bad guys". And I'm wondering how many people have noticed that Eliot's background on TNT states that he's played both sides of the fence? That he's worked both sides of the law. That might play into my story...I've got the basic premise down...but am still working on the details.

But, you know, I really don't care that much either way. What I'd like to see is him wearing less clutter on his wrists! That's what I'd change, if I changed anything.
Really? Okay. I know at least one of the things he wears is his...not Eliot's. Besides I can totally see him wearing them as protection? Does that make sense? For when he's fighting. I guess I never really noticed his wrists. I'll have to pay more attention when I watch the show again soon...just gotta locate all my tapes.

Okay time to go lay down and see if I feel better so I can write more today.
